Cats

A beautiful creature

From nose to the toes

With emerald green eyes

And silky black coat

Sneaking and stalking

So quiet, so slick

Composed and persistent

Paws set and eyes straight

Squeak goes the mouse

So startled and shocked

Then silence before

A low little purr

Leaping and jumping

Tail high in the air

The creature of night

Returns to its lair
